NOTE: CBSE NET which is conducted twice in a year (January and July), will now be conducted once in a year from the year 2018. 2017 was last year for twice conduction of UGC NET Exam.
The National Eligibility Test conducted by The University Grants Commission (UGC) is the qualifying examination to recruit the candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) and Assistant Professors. CBSE UGC NET Exam conducted in January by the CBSE. The examination of NET conducted twice in a year by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The Exam conducted in January and July every year. This exam is conducted to determine the eligibility for Indian nationals for being a lecturer or Junior research fellow in Indian Universities and colleges.
The University Education Commission was set up in 1948 under the Chairmanship of Dr. S Radhakrishnan “to report on Indian university education and suggest improvements and extensions that might be desirable to suit the present and future needs and aspirations of the country”. It recommended that the University Grants Committee be reconstituted on the general model of the University Grants Commission of the United Kingdom with a full-time Chairman and other members to be appointed from among-est educationists of repute.

Step-2: A merit will be prepared subject and category wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by candidates.
Step-3: From the merit list, top 15% applicants will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for the assistant professor only.
Step-4: A merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared under step III.

UGC NET Nov Result 2018
This year, CBSE has conducted the NET nov Exam on 5th November 2017. The CBSE is only responsible for conducting and declaring the result of UGC NET Nov 2017 and other than that, the CBSE will not issue any marks sheet to qualified/non-qualified candidates. However, the E-certificate will be issued to the qualifiers of the exam by UGC NET Bureau.
What Next After UGC NET Result 2018 Declaration?

What is E-certificate?
E-certificate is a documentary proof which is issued by University Grant Commission for who qualified UGC NET. It can be available online and downloaded by the candidates. This certificate is available at the official website in the user profile created by applicants while uploading and filling the application form. The UGC e-certificate is equivalent to the original certificate.
Qualifying Criteria for UGC NET
The leading 6% candidates amongst the test takers in the order of merit will be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.
Procedure to claim CBSE UGC NET Result 2018
After the UGC NET Nov Result 2018 Declaration, those who found not to be satisfied with the given marks and score card may claim their CBSE UGC NET Answer Keys and send a request to the Director, NET Unit, CBSE, H-149, Sector – 63, Noida – 201309, Distt. Gautam Budh Nagar (UP). The request must stand with proof from standard books/literature along with a Demand Draft of INR 5000/- drawn in favor of Secretary CBSE (payable at Delhi/Noida). The claim request would be made within the 1 month of Result declaration.
