The Uttar Pradesh Election 2017 are categorized in seven phases starting from 11 February, the first phase. The voting phase i.e  second phase would be held on 15 February, third phase voting would be on 19 February. Voting for the fourth phase and fifth phase would be held on 23 February and 27 February respectively. Phase voting for Sixth and seventh would be held on 4 March and 8 March respectively. Votes would be counted along with other four states of  Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, and Manipur on March 11.

The current ruling Samajwadi Party formed the party by striking a clear win of 224 seats out of 403 in house seats against Mayawati Bahujan and formed its party in 2012. This time after the clash between father Mulayam Singh Yadav and son Akhilesh Yadav has formed an electoral alliance with the Congress in order to rule the state again.

Mayawati is again thinking of coming to power with the support of Muslims and Dalits, but on the road of Lucknow is not so easy as the Muslims vote splits. In the last elections held in 2012 BSP only secured 84 seats and became the second largest party for falling with such a high margin against SP which secured an absolute majority with 224 seats.

The third main party’s BJP which does not have a good impact last years but this time they are relying on the charisma of prime minister Narendra Modi.
